Just saying..

An Indian migrant worker who was allegedly tortured by his employer died early yesterday morning of starvation. R. Ganesh, from Tamil Nadu, died less than 24 hours after his plight was highlighted in several local newspapers. There were no family members, relatives or friends at Ganesh’s hospital bedside when he died at 4.30am. He was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration as a result of starvation.

He was beaten and let to be food deprived by his employer. It was learnt that the employer’s family including his wife and son frequently beat him. Police who had arrested Ganesh’s 50-year employer, the latter’s wife, 47, and their son, 20, have now reclassified the case as murder.

The family of three was arrested from their home in Taman Nirwana, Alma in Bukit Mertajam on Tuesday. It is learnt that they were operating a sauce manufacturing business. Initial investigations have revealed more shocking details. The three suspects were previously accused of abusing their Indonesian maid by pouring hot water on her. The couple and their son had allegedly mistreated the maid in 2005. However, the case was settled amicably after they allegedly paid off the maid and sent her home.It is also learnt that the replacement maid also ran away recently from the house after being allegedly abused.

It was reported that Ganesh was subjected to daily beatings and deprived of food by his employer since he started work at their house in Bukit Mertajam in August last year.

His employer allegedly bundled him into a car and dumped him at a secondary jungle in Gurun on Monday night, where he was left for dead. Villagers found him the next morning. Shocked by his skeletal frame and bruises covering his body, they alerted the authorities.

How people behave like that. Pity him. He tried to look for better life here. He is amongst million of foreign workers who fill up the job vacancies which are not preferred by Malaysian themselves.

There are a lot of cases like that which are hidden and not known by us. Beatings, sexual harassment, cheating and etc are examples of problem amongst foreign workers. Malaysian should aware that they indirectly generate our economy by filling up unwanted job amongst Malaysian like being labors in construction, agriculture, and etc.

Such incident should not be happened again. Malaysian has to do something as well as responsible party or authorities. We have to stop such incident from happening again.
